Texas Chapter of NAVHDA 2011 Spring Training Day and Snake Avoidance Clinic
Letter from our President: Brian Bush
To all,
We had excellent weather for our Spring training day on Saturday, although it was a little windy in the afternoon. Everyone received lots of hands on training and all the NA dogs really learned alot about birds and water. Most of the dogs went through the snake avoidance clinic and it was a great success. I noticed some of the owners couldn't watch the clinic because of the negative reinforcement but the recognition and learning experience was well worth it. Everyone loved the barbeque lunch. All the meats were great and I would like to thank Lockhart Smokehouse located at 400 W. Davis, Dallas, Texas for their sponsorship in our club. If your ever near downtown Dallas please stop in and have lunch or dinner. For directions please call: (214) 944-5521. Everyone also received a discount card from Bargain Hunter Outdoors located at 2201 Tin Top Road in Weatherford, Texas. They're also one of our sponsors and have great prices on hunting, camping and fishing supplies. Most of their products are surplus from Cabela's and Bass Pro. Please stop by and shop, you'll love the prices. We finished the training day with some duck/water work. The dogs loved chasing the duck and Buck Henderson's Puddlepointer was the winner for catching the duck. Congratulations, Buck. I enjoyed seeing everyone and am excited about the Spring Test on April 9th and 10th. Please come out even if your not running a dog in the NA or UT tests. We always need volunteers to run the tests and from what I've seen we have very good lunches. The test lunch will consist of barbeque and homemade cherry and apple cobblers. I want to thank everyone again for coming out and also to the volunteers (Holland Smith and Ron Pinckard) for all their help. If I have forgotten anyone please know that we do appreciate your help. Everyone have a great week and I hope to see y'all at the Spring Test. Remember, it takes a hunt club to raise a bird dog.
God Bless Us All,
Brian W. Bush
